Rushworth & District Lions Club

Ordinary people doing extraordinary things - supporting people with a disability, community greening, fundraising for worthwhile causes.

Be a part of the change. Join the Rushworth & District Lions Club and assist us in assisting the community to become a better place.

We are the Lions

We meet the needs of our local communities and the world. Each year we hold a wood auction on Easter Saturday when up to 30 trailer loads of ironbark are sold to the highest bidder. The funds raised are distributed throughout the community and in the past have benefitted the Waranga Hospital, Waranga Nursing Home, SES and CFA along with the Reserve Committee. Funds also go to Lions Foundations where they are used for such purposes as Flood Relief or Bushfire Relief. We suport medical research into cancer and other diseases, vision projects and alcohol and drug awareness along with diabetes awareness.

Our 1.3 million men and women in 206 countries and geographic areas conduct vision and health screenings, build parks, support eye hospitals, award scholarships, assist youth, provide help in time of disaster and much more. We hold Youth of the Year Quest and Primary School Public Speaking and both assist in moulding the youth of today. We get involved in community functions such as Easter Fair and Australia Day, we run Bingo every Tuesday night at the Senior Citizens Rooms and provide Gun Fire Breakfast on Anzac Day.

Join us in making our communities and the world better places to live. We meet twice a month at 7.30pm every second and fourth Friday. The second Friday of the month at Rushworth Motel for a Dinner Meeting and fourth Friday of the month at the Cottage No 1 Murchison Road Rushworth for a supper meeting.which is a business meeting.
